1. Dabao – Take away food. “Uncle, 1 sushi, dabao.”
2. Sian – Unhappy, bored and tired. “Why bus is taking so long? Sian!”
3. Makan – Malay word for eating. “Wanna go makan chilli crab tonight?”
4. Bojio – Never call out to hang. “You, guys, gonna drink beer tonight? Bojio!”
5. Blur Sotong – Always confused. “He blur sotong, I asked him for Chicken rice and he gave me Fish!”
6. Alamak – Shocked or surprised. “Alamak, I forgot to feed my dog!”
7. Don’t play play – Don’t go fooling around or not taking matter seriously. “Don’t play play hor! He black belt in Karate one.”
8. Anything lor – No self opinions.
A: What do you wanna eat?
B: Anything lor.
9. Shiok – Great satisfaction.
A: “Tried curry fish head at Samy’s??”
B: Yes. Shiok!
10. Siao – Crazy. “I wear long sleeved top in hot weather. I siao ah.”
11. Kaypoh – Busybody. “See what, see me for? Don’t be a kaypoh.”
12. Kiasu – Fear of losing. “That kiasu aunties push through crowds for free breads.”
